Free chat with Sweeter CPA

We are so fortunate to have Helena from Sweeter CPA with us this week sharing the ins & outs of hosting and winning giveaways! Now is your chance to spend some time asking her your tax questions!

Now that we’ve seen how to host a legal giveaway on your blog – properly reporting income and avoiding illegal gambling set-ups – let’s put that knowledge into action!

A 30-minute call with me, SweeterCPA, to discuss any tax questions you may have! This can be via the phone or Skype, whichever you prefer. Beyond blog giveaways and sales tax issues, I help people in all stages of business. We can discuss choosing a business entity, setting up a bookkeeping system, or filing your quarterly and/or annual taxes – it’s up to you!

This sweepstakes is open to people 18 and older – as of July 20, 2012 – living in the United States of America. Entries will be open until Friday, July 27th. Duplicate entries will be deleted. Winners will be chosen on July 27th using Random.org and notified via email. This prize has a $50 value and is not transferable or redeemable for other services by SweeterCPA or Aimee & Co.

This would be a huge blessing for me as I have many questions ;)

  3. Running a business in CO is so different than in PA….would LOVE to win just to make sure that I am doing everything correctly!

  4. Kate says:

This would be awesome, I’m so clueless when it comes to this stuff!

  5. Kira says:

I would love to read more about disclosure – how to write a disclosure statement to suit your needs and be in compliance with the FCC. Also selling ads – how to do it and collect payment legally. I’m one of those people who tries hard to research laws and regulations before starting new ventures on my blog but it’s hard to find that information! I’m glad Aimee & Co is trying to cover these topics : )

  6. Kira says:

I’d also love to know that once you are earning money from your blog or online indie business, what do you need to do tax-wise? Is it over a certain amount of money or all earnings?

  7. First – these articles are super helpful! Great to meet you Helena and thank you for sharing this knowledge!

Some things I’d also like covered are: Tax implications of review materials / income from sponsored reviews/giveaways, What can be written off as far as blogging expenses, how to account for services provided to others / defining the value of something you provide that is a service.

    Thanks!

  8. Love Helena, such a great giveaway! I’d love to know more about trademarks and when it’s a good time to start the process.

  9. I was JUST thinking about this the other day. I want to know what I need to be reporting as ‘income’, what I can count as ‘expenses’, tax implications from reviews/sponsored giveaways, etc.

  10. Ooooh, I would LOVE this!! Thanks, friend!

  11. I’d love to know more about how Turbo Tax doesn’t necessarily prompt you for certain business related things like actually paying your estimated taxes.

  12. Danielle says:

I would love to know about deductions. I’ve heard you can include things like your internet costs, shipping for giveaway prizes, and even having a guard dog! haha.
